How to Send Certified Mail Online
If you want to send Certified Mail online, MappyMail lets you choose the mailing destination, type a letter or upload a document, select Certified Mail when it is available, review the mailing options and total price, and send a real physical letter. A recipient name and a valid email address for tracking are required. MappyMail emails the USPS tracking number after the letter is submitted for mailing.

Send Certified Mail Without Going to the Post Office
Prepare the mailing online from a supported phone or computer browser. No account, printer, envelope, stamps, or trip to the post office is required. MappyMail prints, prepares, and sends the real physical letter through USPS, and the recipient receives paper mail rather than an email or electronic file.
Certified Mail is shown as an option when it is available for the mailing. It is not available for international letters, and the complete certified mailing must fit the current six-sheet limit.
What Is Certified Mail?
USPS Certified Mail provides a mailing record, a tracking number, and electronic verification that the letter was delivered or that delivery was attempted. It does not guarantee delivery on a particular date or prove what the mailed letter contained.
Some senders use Certified Mail when they want mailing and delivery-related records. Requirements vary by situation and jurisdiction, so Certified Mail does not by itself guarantee that a notice is legally sufficient.
What You Get When You Choose Certified Mail
For an eligible mailing, MappyMail applies USPS Certified Mail service and sends the USPS tracking number to the valid email address provided after the letter is submitted for mailing.
An Electronic Return Receipt, when available, requests an additional digital delivery record with signature information. It is a separate selection and charge. The current MappyMail workflow does not offer a physical green-card Return Receipt, Restricted Delivery, or separate adult-signature services.
The total price, including any Certified Mail and Electronic Return Receipt charges, is shown before checkout.
Certified Mail Compared With Regular Mail
- Regular mail sends a standard physical letter without the Certified Mail option.
- Certified Mail adds the USPS Certified Mail service and tracking for an eligible domestic mailing.
- Certified Mail is not a faster or guaranteed-delivery service.
Type a Letter or Upload a Document
Type the letter directly in MappyMail, or upload a one-page or multi-page PDF, or a PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, HEIC, or HEIF image. Supported images are converted into a printable PDF during the upload workflow.
The certified envelope fits up to 6 total printed sheets. For an uploaded file, the separate address sheet counts toward that total. If the mailing is too long for Certified Mail, shorten it or send it as regular mail.

- The complete certified mailing may contain no more than 6 printed sheets, including an added address sheet for uploads.
- A recipient name and a valid email address for tracking are required for Certified Mail in the current workflow.
- Electronic Return Receipt is not included unless it is offered and selected as a separate option.
- Certified Mail does not guarantee a delivery date, prove the contents of the letter, or guarantee legal sufficiency.

If you know the physical location, you can click the map to choose the mailing destination. Review the returned address carefully. Certified Mail still requires a recipient name, a valid email address for tracking, an eligible domestic destination, and any necessary apartment, suite, or unit information.
Is Certified Mail guaranteed to arrive by a certain date?
No. Certified Mail provides mailing and delivery-related records, but it does not guarantee arrival by a particular date.
