MappyMail processes information needed to operate and secure the service, accept payment, prepare and mail letters, provide requested confirmations, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal information or use letter content for advertising.
Letter-content deletion
MappyMail schedules letter PDF artifacts for deletion after successful fulfillment and any requested confirmation processing. Temporary retention may occur while delivery to the print provider or a confirmation email is retried, or when needed to investigate an operational or security failure.
If you want a copy for your records, keep your original file or download the preview before checkout.
Information we collect
We collect a small set of details to fulfill your request:
- Mailing details. Recipient and return address information, plus delivery preferences you choose.
- Letter content. The text or PDF you submit is used only to print and mail the letter.
- Contact details. Your email address if you opt in to confirmations or reach out to support.
- Payment details. Payments are processed by Stripe; we receive confirmation and receipt information, not full card details.
- Usage data. Basic device and log data such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps to keep the service reliable and secure.
- Optional location data. If you allow location access, it is used to help you pick a delivery location and is not stored in your profile.
- Cookies. We use minimal cookies for essential functionality and basic analytics.
How we use information
- Provide and improve the service you requested.
- Process payments and send confirmations or support replies.
- Print and mail your letter to the recipient address you provide.
- Protect the service from abuse, fraud, or security issues.
- Measure performance so the site stays fast and reliable.
How we share information
- MappyMail does not provide sender information to a recipient merely upon request.
- Service providers that help us run MappyMail, such as payment processing, printing, and delivery partners, only receive what is needed to fulfill your request.
- Payment and mail fulfillment are handled by third-party providers, such as Stripe and our print partner, who may retain records independently of our platform.
- We may disclose information when required or permitted by applicable law, including in response to valid legal process or to protect rights, safety, and the service.
- If we are involved in a merger or sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal requirements, and resolve disputes. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect data.
Letter PDF artifacts are scheduled for deletion as described above. Operational, transaction, payment, security, and support records may be retained as needed for reliability, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal obligations. Service providers may apply their own required retention practices.
Your choices and controls
- Return address is optional for eligible letters.
- Confirmation email is optional and used only for delivery updates.
- Location permission is optional and only helps with the map search.
